Contact Lenses & Specialty Contact Lenses

Contact lenses are a great option for those that want to be free from glasses.

Glass or Contacts Lang Family Eye Care New Berlin WIThe designs and lens materials used for contact lenses improve yearly—so options exist for just about everyone. There are lenses available to correct astigmatism, nearsightedness, farsightedness, and presbyopia (the ability to not see near after 40 years old). If you once thought your only option was wearing glasses, that’s no longer the case. Don’t be limited with your glasses, as flexible options for people that just want to wear contacts occasionally exist as well.

Specialty Contact Lenses

Orthokeratology/Corneal Refractive Therapy

These lenses re-shape the contour of you cornea while you sleep to provide crystal clear correction-free vision during the day!

Multifocal/Bifocal/Progressive Contact Lenses

Gas permeable multifocal lenses offer the sharpest, clearest vision at all distances.

Conventional, soft multifocal lenses work well for many people, but those with high amounts of astigmatism or who do not want to compromise vision find that these customized gas permeable lenses work the best.

The term “Rigid Gas Permeable” can frighten many patients for the sake of comfort, but with customized lenses using advanced corneal topography and aberometry, comfort and dryness issues are greatly nullified.

Keratoconus (& other corneal diseases)

This disease alters the cornea often times preventing conventional glasses from providing clear vision. Customized contact lenses are the treatment of choice.

Lang Family Eye Care also fits Synergeyes Lenses for advanced cases. This is a hybrid lens with a soft skirt on the outside edge for comfort and a hard center for clear vision. See the link below.

There are also other forms of treatment, which may be discussed in the realm of keratoconus. Corneal cross-linking and prophylactic LASIK are other options awaiting FDA approval at this time.

Post Surgical

Customized gas permeable contact lenses are ideal for anyone with decreased visual acuity from an atypical or irregular cornea that is uncorrectable using regular glasses or soft contact lenses. Gas permeable contacts are exceptional for people that have poor vision following a penetrating keratoplasty (corneal transplant), radial keratotomy, LASIK complications (halos, decreased night vision, corneas to flat for soft lenses, induced astigmatism, etc.), and complications from other refractive surgeries.

Synergeyes Lenses are also an option depending on severity.

SynergEyes Lenses

These contact lenses are a hybrid of a soft lens and a hard lens. The central portion of this lens is hard for pristine vision and the edge is a silicone material for comfort and stability.

These are excellent for anyone with poor vision due to an irregular cornea, but still want the comfort of a soft lens. Ask us if one of the lenses from the SynergEyes family is right for you.

RevitalEyes Lenses

RevitalEyes are customized soft contact lenses designed with specific parameters for flatter corneas following a corneal transplant or refractive surgery (LASIK, PRK, Radial Keratotomy, etc).

These contact lenses are a great corrective vision option for patients that want to remain in soft lenses, but conventional lenses will not stabilize on their altered corneas.

NovaKone Lenses

NovaKone lenses are an alternative to hybrid and rigid gas permeable lenses for keratoconic patients.

NovaKone lenses are customized soft lenses that mimic the optic design  of a rigid gas permeable lens for optimal vision while providing the comfort of a soft lens.
